Is pie baking something you enjoy? Do your family and friends beg for you to make pies for get-togethers?  Then we want to invite you to enter your favorite pie in our pie contest.  The contest will be held at Maple Crest in Bluffton.

Enter as many different pie recipes as you like.  There are three categories: cream, fruit, and nut pies.   We will accept pies from amateur and professional bakers (including restaurants, caterers, bakeries, and grocery stores).  Judging will be based on taste, appearance, and texture.  Cash prizes will be given in the different categories. The Grand Prize is $100.00 and the honor of the best pie overall, plus cash prizes in the other categories.

The judging of pies will begin at 3:00 p.m. at Maple Crest in the Patio Room.  You will need to bring 2 pies of the same recipe to enter.  One pie will be for the judges to view and sample and the second pie will be for a silent auction. Pies to be judged must be delivered to Maple Crest by 2 p.m. on November 1st

There will also be a spaghetti supper that evening from 4:30-6:30p.m. The cost is $7.00 for a spaghetti dinner with breadsticks, salad, dessert (the contest pies), and a beverage.  Those in attendance will also be able to bid on the pies in the silent auction beginning at 5:00 p.m.  Each pie will all have an $8.00 opening bid.  The highest bidder for each pie will take it home to enjoy!  All proceeds will benefit the Maple Crest Memory Garden & Pier Project.

Call by Tuesday, Oct. 29th to register your pies.  You may enter as many different pies as you like.  For more information or to register your pie/s, call Corinne Lee at 419-358-1015 ext.100.  Maple Crest Senior Living Village is located at 700 Maple Crest Ct. (off Augsburger Rd) in Bluffton, OH.
