Emma Gerding and Ana Oliveira winners of the 2023 MHCO Barbara Fleming Memorial Scholarship
Emma Gerding will graduate from Pandora-Gilboa High school this Spring. She plans to attend Ohio Northern University in the fall pursing a degree in nursing. Emma is the daughter of Mark and Tina Gerding of Pandora OH. Emma has worked 2 years at Hilty Home and more recently at MMH in the dietary program. We have appreciated her quality of work with elders and MHCO team members.
Ana Oliveira is attending Rhodes State College, pursuing a Licensed Practical Nurse degree. Ana has worked at Mennonite Memorial Home as a dietary aid and later nursing assistant for the past 8 years. This is her second year of winning the Barbara Fleming Memorial Scholarship! MHCO is thankful for her excellent work and care of elders.
This annual award of $500 provides scholarship support to an MHCO employee pursuing a degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse, a Registered Nurse, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or a Master’s of Science in Nursing. Barbara Fleming, in whose honor the scholarship is made possible, was a resident of Mennonite Memorial Home from 1997-2000, was trained as a nurse and throughout her life exhibited the caring nature that characterizes the profession of nursing. Please congratulate Emma Gerding and Ana Oliveira as they pursue their calling to serve others through the honorable profession of nursing.
