On Friday, June 17th the Hilty Home sponsored and volunteered to help out with the first annual “Shred-a-Thon” that was organized by the Putnam County Council on Aging. This event was held in honor of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, and other partners that helped bring the event to Putnam County include Crime Victim Services Elder Victim Ministry, First Federal Bank, Ottawa Police Department, and the AAA3. Shredding personal and confidential documents can help reduce the opportunity for identity theft. The event was a success, as all shredding containers were filled to capacity!
