Among the many activities at Fall Festival were a Kiddie Tractor Pull and Fishing Derby at Maple Crest Senior Living Village. Approximately 60 people cheered on the kids in the tractor pull, with 16 children competing.

Emerson Meyer, 1st place, full pull; Jase Blackburn, 2nd place, 21’9”; Zeke Coffman, 3rd place, 21’10”
(58-84 pounds)
Gavin Amstutz, 1st place, 18’3”; Eli Hilty, 2nd place, 15’11”; Gibson Meyer, 3rd place, 10’7”
(85-110 pounds)
Benjamin Lovett, 1st place, 12’3”; Nicholas Lovett, 2nd place, 10’6”
More than 130 people tried their luck at the Fishing Derby at Maple Crest pond, with all 50 “loaner” poles in use. No one caught the tagged bass, with the exception of Tim Wharton, who caught one three times, but before the Derby began! Winners were:
Longest fish – Micah Amstutz, 25”; Lane Wildermuth, 17-1/8”, Bo Amstutz, 14-1/4”
First person to catch a fish – Tie between Micah Amstutz and Ben Lovett
Shortest fish – Sophie Ball, 2”; Abel Mack and Addison Myers, 4”
Most fish – Adam Fritsch, 4; Abel Mack, 3
Newest Maple Crest elder present – Pat Stelzer
This was the 15th Annual Fall Festival, a community-wide event, coordinated by Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio (MHCO). Daren Lee, Maple Crest director, organized and publicized the day’s activities. Locations for the Fest included: Mennonite Memorial Home, Maple Crest Senior Living Village, Mercy Health, Blanchard Valley Hospital, Bluffton, and the Swiss Community Homestead. Bluffton Senior Citizens and Bluffton Family Recreation provided additional activities.
