Elders, family members and staff nominated several Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio (MHCO) employees for LeadingAge Ohio STAR Awards.
With the tagline, “You Make the Difference!” the STAR Awards are presented annually to create a moment of public recognition for front-line, non-management staff who care for our elderly population.
STARS nominees, honored at an April 11 luncheon at Otterbein, St. Mary’s were:
Hilty Home – Sandi Schaublin, activities/transportation; Teresa Lind, LPN; Debra Bonnell, dietary
Maple Crest Senior Living Village – Anna McKinley, cook; Katie Inkrott, elder assistant; Armelia Menke, elder assistant
Mennonite Memorial Home – Lesa Melton, personal care assistant; Laura Sampson, LPN; Melissa Lawrence, housekeeping; Leigh Ann Alspach, dietary; Laura White, RN; Chris Heffner, LPN and Alyssa Snider, LPN
Honorees received commemorative lapel pins, award certificates and copies of their nominations. Also attending the luncheon were supervisors Sue Richards, housekeeping; Donna Hewitt, assistant director of nursing; Jenny Myers, assisted living; Jason Cox, administrator, Hilty Home; Daren Lee, director of Maple Crest and independent living, and Deb Lamb, human resources director.
LeadingAge Ohio is a nonprofit trade association that represents approximately 400 long-term care organizations and hospices, as well as those providing ancillary health care and housing services, in more than 150 Ohio towns and cities. The continuum of care reflected by the member organizations serve an estimated 400,000 elderly Ohioans annually and employ more than 35,000 persons statewide.
