MHCO Scores High on Family Satisfaction in 2022

In 2021 and 2022, the Ohio Department of Aging surveyed the family members of Ohio’s nursing homes and residential care facilities. They asked a family member or friend of each resident about their perceptions of the community’s activities, administration, meals and dining, direct care, nursing and other factors that affect their family members’ lives in the facility. The Department mailed a survey to a sample of family members of Ohio’s nursing home and residential care facility residents between August 2021 and April 2022. The surveys were anonymous and were returned via U.S. mail to Scripps Gerontology Center at Miami University or via an Internet survey tool.

Recently, the results of this survey were released, and Willow Ridge placed 17th out of 231 skilled nursing facilities, and Maple Crest ranked 13th out of 311 Assisted Living communities!  We would like to thank our families who participated in this survey and shared your feedback in regards to our services.  The Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio Mission Statement is, “We are dedicated to being a Christ-centered community that promotes personal decision making and purposeful living for each older adult served”, and surveys such as this help us ensure we are meeting our mission.

Total results for all Ohio Skilled Nursing Facilities can be found at: https://ltc.ohio.gov/care-information/data-on-care-service/2022-nursing-home-family-satisfaction-survey-results

This is a biennial survey, and the Department will survey families again using a similar survey tool in 2024 (every other year, there is a Resident Satisfaction Survey instead of a Family Satisfaction Survey).  We are currently preparing for the 2023 Resident Satisfaction Survey, and are hopeful for even better results!
